USAC Information and Updates

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has made available a flat 65% subsidy for eligible health care providers in the Rural Health Care program (RHC) Healthcare Connect Fund (HCF).  The Universal Services Administrative Company (USAC) facilitates programs on behalf of the FCC.

During the funding year, Requests for Proposals (RFP) will be posted to the USAC Open Data website.  Find active RFPshere.

9/17/26: Vendor questions regarding current network and desired maximum bandwidths to prepare a specific bid.  

While an exact quote may not be possible without a site survey, service providers could present their service offerings and/or variable bandwidth options for consideration, by proposing scenarios with preliminary pricing, noting that final pricing is subject to site surveys and other factors. 

  • The current network includes both Ethernet and Internet services, and they are open to new technologies and scalable bandwidth options. 

  • Historically services ranging from 10 Mbps at clinics to 1 Gbps at hospitals, data centers, and administrative offices.  

  • They are open to new technologies, diversity and scalable bandwidth options for their geographically diverse footprint. 

This would provide a starting point for further discussions after the RFP closes.

The HCPs currently have services in place, however, are open to reviewing new services. Please provide a range of bandwidth services for the sites you can service. Feel free to add a disclaimer regarding the service prices would be dependent on a site survey for any NRC.
